Over 58% of Burleson residents have college-level experience

The City of Burleson played a key role in bringing higher education directly to the city by offering Hill College and Texas Tech University the opportunity to hold classes in a city-owned facility on Renfro Street, allowing for credit and continuing education courses to be offered in Burleson.

The establishment of Hill College and Texas Tech in Burleson presents a tremendous opportunity for area residents who now find it easier and more convenient to take college courses, complete degrees, receive job-related certifications and enjoy continuing education classes closer to home.

Since 2007, the privately funded Burleson Opportunity Fund, has provided funds toward more than 32,000 credit hour scholarships for higher education and through the sister program Burleson Works scholarships are available for technical training. 

Burleson Works

Burleson Works, a sister program of the Burleson Opportunity Fund provides an avenue for Burleson companies and citizens in our region to connect with one another to fill the skills gap in our labor market through partnerships with local and regional schools to obtain skills and certifications to gain employment in our region.  By encouraging citizens and students in our region to further their education and gain technical skills that are needed in our labor market, we create a better equipped, trained and certified regional workforce, enhance the regional economy by supporting companies that are located in the region, and strengthen the partnerships between technical schools, local businesses, and the local school district.

Burleson Works is supported by many of the most successful companies in the area.

Project U

Project U is a full day leadership conference featuring nationally recognized leaders, authors and business professionals.

Hosted by the City of Burleson Economic Development Corporation, this event aims to provide valuable resources for attendees to enhance their current skill set, collaborate with like-minded professionals and become better leaders within their community.

​Project U will consist of five dynamic speakers, carefully chosen to educate, inspire and encourage you. Each keynote will present powerful stories and takeaways, curated from their own unique experiences and walks-of-life.

Burleson ISD - Career & Technical Education

The Career & Technical Education (CTE) Department at Burleson Independent School District prepares students for the highly technological and competitive workplace of the 21st century and is designed to prepare students for life-long success in high-wage, high-skill, and high-demand occupations and career fields.

CTE students can study in areas such as:
